Our Curriculum: Core Academics
The core academic program at St. Catherine Academy consists of language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. Individualize annual goals and objectives are developed using the CT Frameworks Curriculum Goals K-12.
The goal of the academic program is to develop maximum potential in each area utilizing a combination of tutorial sessions and small group instruction. This allows the teacher to effectively assess progress and plan necessary accommodations for each student.
Assistive technology is utilized in the classroom setting to support and develop academic skills. Functional application of academic skills is further developed in interdisciplinary classes such as culinary skills, independent living and in the vocational skills program.
